The Huntsman

The Huntsman was designed by Gabriel of Last Huntsman Outdoors YouTube channel. Gabe's high skill level and understanding of knives comes from a lifetime of collecting, carrying and using knives of all kinds. He has dedicated much of his spare time to making fair and honest reviews testing many of the most popular knives ever made. With that he has earned a lot of respect within the knife community and his opinion is revered by many. Throughout his journey he has taken the best parts of his favorites knives and put them all together for a design of his own, thus The Huntsman was born. One knife to rule them all? That's a matter of perception. But one thing is for sure, it can absolutely do a lot of work and do it well!

Comfort - Control - Functionality

The wide spread handle (inspired by the Becker BK7) is as comfy and grip-able up high as it is down low where it sports an exposed tang/hammer pommel. The flat side scales are a staple of the Very Good Knife Co design, and lend to positive indexing without rolling or moving with heavy use. This lends to less fatigue and more trust in your ability to control the knife with ease. Curvy choils keep the knife seated in your hands without squeezing yourself into arm-pump and sending the knife flying. With the help of a lanyard, this knife will stay put no matter what.

Balance - Power - Versatility

The blade is influenced by Nessmuk and Smatchet, and the rear facing slant gives it a continuous pulling power towards the material you are cutting similar to a Kukri. It hits well above its weight class in most areas being very capable of the heaviest jobs you would need a knife for and it is still able to perform small tasks such as carving and even feather sticks. The Huntsman is designed to do many things, but it can chop like no other. The weight forward construction allows it to bite deep with every swing and the bevel geometry chips wood efficiently to keep the cut moving clean and fast.

Minimal - Durable - Secure

For the sheath we wanted to keep it simple and light. It needs nothing more than the basics to do the job. A knife this big needs to drop away from the waist line, so we went with a nylon webbing dropper with a heavy duty kydex carrier that wont warp from the weight of the knife over time. The sheath will accommodate many aftermarket attachments and the 3/4" hole spacing will directly fit attachments such as Tek-Lok Lg. It is heavy duty and spacious around the bevel/edge to keep it clean, sharp and dry. Of course a good sheath would not be complete without a proper drain.

The Huntsman is ready for work and to top it all off, it's as stylish as it gets for a big ol work knife. We are all so excited to get these knives out into the world and into your hands for your next adventure!

"With all that being said, be prepared both physically and spiritually, God Bless and carry on!" -Gabriel
