All knives from Very Good Knife Company come with a lifetime warranty covering any failure under normal use. The warranty covers the knife, not limited to the original owner. We do not need original receipt of purchase however we must verify that your knife has been made by us. We stand behind our product 100% and guarantee our knives will perform and hold up satisfactory under normal use. However our warranty does not cover the following:

>Rust, normal wear from use, theft or loss of your knife. Our knives are made with high carbon steel and finished with an anti-rust coating before sending to you. Once in your possession it is your duty to care for the knife. Please refer to our Knife Care page for basic care information.

>Coating wear. Some Very Good knives are equipped with our textured powder coat which is subject to wear such as thinning scratching or chipping. Though the coating is very tough, it will eventually wear dependent on how you use your knife.

>Dull edge and/or damage due to improper sharpening/edge renewal by owner or any person(s) not affiliated with Very Good Knife Company. This policy stems from electric belt type sharpeners. All knives will need sharpening eventually however we cannot stress enough to take it easy. Unless you have damaged your edge, all you should need is a simple diamond rod or similar type sharpener to touch up.  If you need your knife completely re-edged please refer to our Contact page and let us know, we will be happy to refresh your knife's edge. Owner responsible for shipping cost to send to us.

>Throwing. We absolutely do not advise you throw your Very Good knife. Our knives are not designed or tempered for throwing in any way shape or form. If you throw your knife it could break and will not be warrantied.

>Sheaths are warrantied for 1 year maximum.  If your sheath fails to retain its knife inside a year we will make you a new one. Sheath materials are not intended to last a life time. They will wear out dependent on how you carry your knife. It is your responsibility to ensure that your knife is properly retained by your sheath before carry.

>Blatant negligence and abuse. We will not warranty knives submitted to abuse or any misuse with intention to test the damage/wear resistance limits. We do not under any circumstances recommend you torture test your knife. However if you wish to intentionally find the point of the knifes destruction, by all means go for it. But you choose to void warranty in doing so. This extends to leaving your knife in unsatisfactory conditions such as 'the front yard' for any extended period of time.
